I graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1994 with a BA (Fine Arts) ED IV degree. Currently, I serve as the Assistant Regional Adviser for Gauteng, South Africa, for SCBWI (The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators). 

Specializing in illustration, I enjoy working with watercolor, gouache, pen and ink and digital mediums, often combining them in my artwork. My love for children’s books has driven me to work on various projects for educational publishers, as well as private and corporate clients in the medical and mining industries. 

I am excited to be working on my children’s book series, OpieG Goes to South Africa. The series was published in South Africa and the USA and has even been translated into Afrikaans. The next book in the series, OpieG Goes to Israel, is in its final stages of editing, and I can’t wait to share it with young readers!

In addition to my illustration work, I am also an aspiring author and illustrator of my own children’s books, which are currently being marketed to publishers and agents. I have conducted several workshops for SCBWI in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Emalahleni, and I love hosting creative workshops in art, illustration, and creative thinking. On Wednesdays, I teach art classes for ladies, encouraging creativity in a supportive environment.
